MOMOS RED CHUTNEY

Momos chutney, a spicy red sauce made with dry red chillies, garlic and tomatoes, is a must have dipping sauce for Veg Momos. This hot and spicy sauce/chutneyis also known as Tomato Chilli Garlic Sauce and has little watery consistency. a spicy and tasty condiment or chutney recipe served with the range of momos or steamed dumplings. Momos recipe are typically served with a spicy and bright red coloured chutney which enhances the taste and experience of momos servings.

Ingredients:
2 cups water
3 tomatoes, ripened 
4 dried red chilli
4 clove garlic
1 inch ginger
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp vinegar
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp soya sauce

Recipe:
  1. Wash the tomatoes, red chilies and put in a pot. Add around 1/2 a cup of water. Cover and boil for around 5 minutes. Discard the water.
  2. Put the chilies and tomatoes in a grinder. Let them reach room temperature before grinding to make a paste.
  3. In a pot heat some oil. Add garlic saute till it's raw smell goes away, then add the ginger, saute for another few seconds.
  4. Add the tomato chili paste, vinegar, soya sauce, sugar, and salt. Mix and cook for a few minutes till the chutney starts thickening.
  5. Switch off the gas. Let it reach room temperature and then serve with momos or any other snack of your choice.


This chutney is best served with momos.
